American Stacy Lewis took the lead halfway through the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters with a 7-under-par 65 Thursday at Emirates Golf Course.

At 9-under overall, Lewis is a shot ahead of Sweden’s Pernilla Lindberg (69), two ahead of Spain’s Carlota Ciganda (70) and three ahead of Thailand’s Pornanong Phatlum (70) in the Ladies European Tour season finale.

Lewis, the highest-ranked player in the field at No. 3 in the world, is seeking her fourth title this year. She won three LPGA events this season, including the Ricoh Women’s British Open.

China’s Shanshan Feng, the defending champ in Dubai and No. 4 in the world, rallied from Wednesday’s tough start. Her 67 was nine shots better than her opening round. She’s tied for 12th, eight shots off the lead. England’s Laura Davies (71), who has won 45 LET events, the tour record, is tied for sixth, six shots back. English rookie Charley Hull (72) is tied for ninth, seven back.
