Mahan WDs Bay Hill Sunday citing a sore back

ORLANDO, Fla. – Hunter Mahan has withdrawn from the Arnold Palmer Invitational with lower back pain.

Mahan bogeyed his opening hole of the final round and teed off at the par-3 second when he decided to withdraw. According to the Associated Press, Mahan had treatment on Sunday after withdrawing and said he expects to play the Shell Houston Open in two weeks.

Mahan said he began to feel discomfort at the WGC-Cadillac Championship two weeks ago and the twinge returned during his week off.
