Three shots back of overnight leader Martin Laird and standing in the middle of the first fairway, Matsuyama played this second shot from what is usually considered an unfortunate lie:
The eagle-2 briefly got Matsuyama to just one back of the lead before Laird made a birdie putt up on the green.
