Bubba ’80 percent’ healthy after sinus infection

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Bubba Watson says he’s only about “80 percent” fit for the Masters after dealing with a sinus infection earlier this week.

After spending all but two hours in bed Monday, Watson played an 18-hole practice round on Tuesday.

“This place energizes you quite nicely,” he said.

Watson, a two-time Masters winner, is one of the pre-tournament favorites after winning at Riviera and finishing second at the WGC-Cadillac Championship at Doral.

He tweaked his back and withdrew from Bay Hill, and now he’s come down with a nasty sinus infection that required a visit from his doctor.

“Oh, I’m definitely going to be ready to go,” he said. “Now, my score might not show that, but I’m going to be ready to go. I don’t care if I lose an arm; I’m gonna be going. It’s the Masters.”
