Lee Westwood has one more round to play in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, and hopefully it’s better than the first two.
Westwood shot 10-over-par 82 in the second round of the event at Kingsbarns. He opened with a 3-over 75 at Carnoustie. At 13 over par, overall, he is in last place.
Westwood will play his third round on Saturday on the Old Course at St. Andrews. A cut will then be made for the final round at St. Andrews.
Westwood is coming off a dismal Ryder Cup performance, in which he went 0-3 as a captain’s pick in Europe’s losing effort. Westwood missed a number of key, short putts in his team matches and blew a 2-up lead with three to play against Ryan Moore, losing the final three holes, and the match.
Friday at Kingsbarns, Westwood had four double bogeys and a triple bogey, to go along with three birdies and two bogeys.
Thursday at Carnoustie, he had two eagles to offset a pair of double bogeys, along with two birdies and five bogeys.
