Tiger Woods’ career as a course architect is officially underway.
Woods was on hand Tuesday to officially open El Cardonal at Diamante in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, the first Woods-designed course to reach completion. Woods saw three prior designs - one in Dubai, one in Mexico and one in North Carolina - all abandoned because of downturns in the economy.
El Cardonal made it to the finish line, though, and Woods teed it up to show guests around the 7,400-yard, par-71 layout:

Woods is also currently designing Bluejack National outside Houston, which is set to become his first course in the U.S. when it opens next fall.
