AUGUSTA, Ga. – Andy Cheng is a movie director who lives Northridge, Calif., so not surprisingly he has an eye for the dramatic.

When Cheng’s son, Leo, qualified for this year’s Drive, Chip & Putt Championship he had his wife purchase a junior-sized green jacket.

As it turns out, Leo, 11, earned the faux green jacket with his play, cruising to victory in the 10-11 year old division.

Cheng won the chipping and putting portions of the event and came in fourth in the driving competition to justify his parent’s efforts.

“It didn’t matter if he won or not, we were going to give it to him so it work out,” Andy Cheng said.

During the award ceremony, Cheng met defending Masters champion Adam Scott, which was apropos considering his winning putt was similar to the putt the Australian made last year on the 18th green to force a playoff.

“I felt like Adam Scott when I made that,” Cheng smiled.
