Introducing the game through family pitch and putt
-- Bayside Resort Golf Club in Fenwick Island, Del., transforms their driving range into a nine-hole, par-3 course on Sundays during holiday weekends for complimentary family golf.
-- Holes are between 30 and 93 yards in distance, so golfers walk and carry a few clubs and a putter.
-- Families of two to as many as eight come out for about an hour of fun golf.
-- Kids, teens, seniors and beginners are introduced to the game in a relaxed environment and golf professionals are on-site to give tips and of course encouragement.
-- The cost is free for members and accompanied guests.
Lake of Isles, Connecticut

Junior Scholarship Program
-- Each April, juniors submit a written application, complete a skills test and interview.
-- Eight juniors, boys and girls ages 11-17 are selected for the program.
-- Scholarship holders receive weekly instruction with director of instruction Derek Hooper.
-- Scholarship holders also receive complimentary access to the North Course, Lake of Isles practice facilities, a golf bag, polo shirt, jacket, cap and a dozen balls.
-- Program runs May-September.
-- Program started in 2006.
-- To date, 55 juniors have participated in the program and six have earned college golf scholarships.

Sharkbite Course
-- The Golf Club at Lansdowne transitioned to a private club in 2005 with the addition of an 18-hole course designed by Greg Norman and a family friendly nine-hole golf course designed by Greg Norman called the Sharkbite Course.
-- The par-32 course is longer and more challenging than most traditional nine-hole offerings, measuring 2,319 yards from the back tees, featuring five par 4s and four par 3s.
-- There are five sets of tees on Sharkbite with the shortest yardage playing just under 900 yards.
-- The course can be played quickly due to its length and it’s perfect for beginners, juniors and families.
-- The cost is $65 for adults, free for kids 15 and under, with a paying adult. Sharkbite is an all day fee so you can play nine holes or unlimited golf if you choose.
Troon North Golf Club, Arizona

Monument Express

-- It’s a ‘course within a course’ on the front nine of the highly acclaimed Monument Course at Troon North Golf Club.

-- The course can be played quickly due to its length and it’s perfect for beginners, juniors and families.
-- The cost is only $20 for adults and free for kids 15 and under, with a paying adult.
-- The Monument Express is available every day, beginning at 3:30 p.m. and reservations can be made up to seven days in advance.
