With his third-place finish at the KLM Open, Rory McIlroy passed Martin Kaymer for third in the most recent Official World Golf Ranking. Although a significant gap remains between he and the top two players, Luke Donald and Lee Westwood, McIlroy has made a steady rise in the rankings throughout 2011.
