Unlike some of his teammates, Sergio Garcia didn’t repair to an exotic location after Europe’s Ryder Cup victory.

No, he underwent Lasik eye surgery instead.

According to a Spanish media report, Garcia, 32, underwent surgery last week to correct an astigmatism. Tiger Woods and Ernie Els are among the golfers who have required a similar procedure.

An astigmatism – a curvature of the cornea – causes blurred vision and makes everything appear distorted or out of focus. According to the report, Garcia spent three days resting at home but has already resumed normal off-season activities (tennis, soccer, anything but golf).
