Hank Haney is looking for another client.
The noted swing coach, who worked with Tiger Woods from 2003-2010, has parted ways with the International Junior Golf Academy in Hilton Head, S.C., according to a report Wednesday in the Island Packet.
Haney had been associated with the IJGA, a training academy with more than 140 students, since 2007, when he was named the director of instructor. His name was added to the academy a year later.
The split was mutual, the CEO of IJGA’s parent company told the Island Packet, and even compared it to the Haney-Woods split.
‘It was time for us to move on,’ Peter Orrell said, according to the report.
Haney’s replacement at the IJGA will be Kevin Smeltz, an instructor at the David Leadbetter Academy in Florida who works with Camilo Villegas, D.A. Points and Charles Howell III, among others.
In recent years, Haney, 58, has written a best-selling book about his time working with Woods and filmed a TV series on Golf Channel in which he has helped Michael Phelps, Charles Barkley and Rush Limbaugh with their swings.
