The Bobby Jones’ humidor resides in all its splendor in the pro shop at East Lake.

ATLANTA – Highlight of an early week at the Tour Championship was purchasing a cigar out of the “Bobby Jones humidor.” Yes, that Bobby Jones.

Seems the old wooden box was given to Jones, who grew up at East Lake, when he was appointed president of Atlanta Athletic Club in 1946. Years later, the humidor was donated to East Lake and now proudly stores stogies in the pro shop.

Jones likely didn’t hold the humidor in high regard, however. A gold plate atop the box reads: “Robert T. Jones Jr., President, Atlanta Atheletic [sic] Club, 1946-47.”

It’s the thought that counts when giving, unless the recipient is a perfectionist.
