EVIAN LES-BAINS, France – England’s Charley Hull is playing the Evian Championship as a member of the Ladies European Tour, but she is aiming to play it as an LPGA member, too, next year.

Hull, 17, has a waiver of the LPGA’s rule that members must be 18 years old so she could attend LPGA Q-School this year. She’s exempt into second stage at Plantation Golf & Country Club, Oct. 8-11.

Last month, Hull helped the Europeans win the Solheim Cup for the first time on American soil. She was 2-1 with a rout of Paula Creamer in singles. Hull said the experience gave her a big boost of momentum going into the year’s final major.

“It gave me a lot of confidence, and it took some pressure off me,” Hull said. “It took some pressure off me, I think, in that I’m getting used to pressure now.”

Hull is in a featured group of young dynamos this week. She will play the first two rounds with 16-year-old Lydia Ko and 17-year-old Xi Yu Lin.
