ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – Mark Steinberg expanded his list of clients on Thursday with the announcement that he’d signed Matt Kuchar to a management contract.

Kuchar, who had been with Peter Jacobsen Sports, joins Tiger Woods and two-time U.S. Women’s Amateur champion Danielle Kang at Excel Sports Management, Steinberg’s new firm following his split in June with IMG.

“(Steinberg’s) move over to Excel got a lot of people excited,” Kuchar said. “I’ve always been a little leery of super agencies but he brings the ability to have the power feel and the touch of an intimate agency.”

Kuchar has been one the most consistent Americans the last two years. He finished sixth on the FedEx Cup points list and is ninth in the Official World Golf Ranking.

“Matt already has cemented himself as one of golf’s most elite competitors and his accomplishments and accolades speak for themselves,” Steinberg said in the release. “He has established himself as a dominant force and we look forward to helping elevate his profile around the world.”
