JOHNS CREEK, Ga. - Surreal moment adjacent the 12th fairway as Rory McIlroy, who has been nursing an injury to his right wrist since the third hole, eyed his wayward tee shot which had come to rest in a hole.
‘There’s no point in injuring yourself,’ his caddie J.P. Fitzgerald said.
‘Let me just finish the round and see how it goes,’ McIlroy said before digging the ball out of the hole and into the fairway.
That he birdied the hole only adds to the story.
