PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Oak Hill could play a little softer than expected Thursday after a quarter-inch of rain fell overnight.
Players were greeted by temperatures in the high-60s with little wind as the 95th PGA Championship got under way.
Provided players stay out of the now wet, long and dense rough, the early Round 1 forecast could mean better scoring conditions for the morning wave, which includes Tiger Woods, who tees off at 8:35 a.m. ET.
There is a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms Thursday, but winds shouldn’t exceed 10 mph. The high temperature will be about 80 degrees.
