As expected, defending champion Tiger Woods officially committed Monday to begin his 2014 season at the Farmers Insurance Open. The event will be held Jan. 23-26.

Woods is a seven-time winner of the event at Torrey Pines, including five of the last six times he has played. Last year, he shot 14-under 274 to win by four shots, his first in a five-title season.

After his domestic debut at Torrey Pines, Woods is scheduled to play in the European Tour’s Dubai Desert Classic on Jan. 30-Feb. 2. The “Morning Drive” crew discusses Woods’ chances for an ninth overall professional victory at Torrey Pines, which includes his 2008 U.S. Open triumph.
