ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Fresh off his fifth victory of the season and his eighth at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, Tiger Woods arrived at Oak Hill, site of this week’s PGA Championship, just before 3 p.m. ET on Monday, warmed up and set out for a practice round with Steve Stricker.
Stricker is widely considered to be the world No. 1’s pseudo putting coach, having given Woods impromptu tips over the last few years. But when asked on Monday if he offered Woods any advice before his seven-stroke victory in Ohio, Stricker said he had not.

“He did it all on his own,” Stricker said. “He’s pretty capable.”
The Bridgestone was one of Woods’ best putting weeks of the year. He tied for fifth in total putts (110) and was 11th in strokes gained-putting.
By comparison, Woods took 114 total putts on his way to victory earlier this season at Torrey Pines, 100 at Doral, 110 at Bay Hill, 114 at TPC Sawgrass.
