There may not be a more scenic piece of land upon which to record a hole-in-one, though Bubba Watson may have liked for the shot come a bit later in the week.

It was during Wednesday's practice round, though, that the defending champion aced the par-3 16th hole known as 'Redbud,' according to an report.

Watson, who was playing Wednesday alongside Rickie Fowler and Scott Piercy, reportedly hit the shot from 160 yards with a 9-iron. After the round, he indicated it was his third career hole-in-one.

'It was pretty sweet,' said Piercy, who is playing in the Masters this week for the first time in his career. 'He flagged it. Kind of gave it the lean, 'Go in.' ... Arms in the air, big smile.'

The 16th has seen more holes-in-one than any other par-3 at Augusta National, having been aced 15 times during competition. Last year, both Bo Van Pelt and Adam Scott pulled off the feat during Sunday's final round.

Watson will begin his title defense Thursday at 10:30 a.m. ET, playing alongside Ian Poulter and U.S. Amateur champion Steven Fox.
