Reavie gets head start on Masters practice

AUGUSTA, Ga. – For Chez Reavie there is no such thing as over-preparing, not when it comes to the year’s first major and Augusta National.

Reavie, who is playing his third Masters, arrived in north Georgia on Friday and played 18 holes on Saturday and Sunday with Geoff Ogilvy, one of eight players who held at least a share of the lead on Sunday last year.

“I’m trying to play as much as possible and practice less,” Reavie said Sunday afternoon. “You want to find what shots suit you best. When you try to hit shots you’re not comfortable with on this golf course it can get tough.”

In Reavie’s defense he’s been thinking about this week for a year.

“I watched every bit of it (on TV) last year,” he smiled. “I even watched it on the internet before it came on TV. Hopefully I’m playing in it, but if not I will always do that.”
