AUGUSTA, Ga. – Unlike their fraternity brothers in Scotland, American meteorologists have a much better batting average when predicting the weather.

That track record will be put to the test this week at Augusta National.

The long-range forecast for this week calls for a 40-percent chance of thunderstorms late on Thursday with increasing chances for Friday’s second round (70 percent).

Winds on Friday are expected to gust to 30 mph out of the northwest, while the weekend forecast is for clear and calm conditions.
