PGA Tour, Visa reportedly on verge of massive sponsorship agreement

The PGA Tour is reportedly on the verge of a massive sponsorship agreement with Visa.

According to Sports Business Journal, the “wide-ranging deal” will see Visa become an official marketing partner of the Tour, gain sponsorship rights to three Challenger Series events and serve as one of multiple sponsors of the Tour’s revamped Tour Championship, set to debut along with other major structural changes to the league in 2028.

The multi-year agreement is expected to be in the high eight figures, “on par or even more than” Visa’s current deals with FIFA and the IOC, according to SBJ, which added that the Tour is looking to sign “a handful of deals at a similar level to Visa.”

The Tour’s longtime partnership with Mastercard expires at the end of this year, though Mastercard’s deal as a presenting sponsor of the Arnold Palmer Invitational runs through 2028.

Visa’s longtime deal with the NFL ended this past March, though the company recently revealed its revenue numbers for this year, a record mark of $46 billion.

The opening round of the VidantaWorld Mexico Open is underway at Vidanta Vallarta Golf Course in Vallarta, Mexico.
