Trey Mullinax has been suspended for six months for violating the PGA Tour’s anti-doping policy, the Tour announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Mullinax said he recently used a medication to treat a “condition I was originally diagnosed with in college without seeking approval.”
“My lack of knowledge is not an excuse,” Mullinax added. “It was my responsibility to know the rules before taking any medication and I failed to do so. I want to be absolutely clear – I have never taken any substance with the intention of gaining a competitive advantage. Anyone who knows me knows how much I respect this game and the values it represents.”
He’s eligible to return on Jan. 16, 2027.
Mullinax, 34, had only made three starts between the PGA and Korn Ferry tours this year after failing to keep his card through a major medical extension that stemmed from 2024 hip surgery. He won the 2022 Barbasol for his only career PGA Tour win to date.
