Nike rolls out new putter - Method Concept

Nike

Nike Golf has introduced a unique half mallet version of its Method line of putters, with a design which the company likens to a concept car.

Dubbed the Method Concept, the putter has the face and address of a traditional blade with a red color, coupled with a contrasting black body piece which connects the heel and toe.

The idea behind the unconventional shape is to provide the high moment of inertia (MOI) associated with a bulkier putter while maintaining a look more reminiscent of a blade.

“There’s a reason the shape is the way it is. It allows us to infuse vital science and powerful technology that delivers a very high MOI in a relatively small package,” said David Franklin, Master Model Maker, Nike Golf, in a release.

Weighing a combined 290 grams, the aluminum face is just 90 grams of the total weight. The weightier, stainless steel back piece places the center of gravity lower and further back on the club.

Combined with the polymetal groove technology found in the Method line, the putter aims to provide a truer roll.

The Method Concept is available in a variety of lengths. Models ranging in length from 32-34 inches will retail for $199, while 41- and 43-inch putters will sell for $229.
