LA QUINTA, Calif. – The 2009 Golf Channel Amateur Tour National Championships has its first ace, and it came from the Senior division in the highest-handicap flight.
Michael Teel, a 28-handicapper from Palm Springs, Calif., holed a 133-yarder at No. 3 at the PGA West Nicklaus tournament course today. The 50-year-old went on to shoot 99, and sits in 31st place heading in to tomorrow’s final round.
