McIlroy 'doesn't bear thinking about' golf without Tiger

It's no secret that Rory McIlroy grew up idolizing Tiger Woods. He even wrote the budding superstar a letter as a 9-year-old telling Tiger that he was "coming to get you."

And now that the 14-time major winner has admitted that he's unsure what his future holds as he recovers from yet another back surgery, McIlroy sounds like the rest of the golf world, just hoping this isn't the last we see of Big Cat.

McIlroy posted the following photo on Instagram Tuesday of the two icons on the course captioned:

Wishing my idol and friend a speedy recovery. Golf without him doesn't bear thinking about. Hope to see you back on the course soon.

McIlroy and Woods had a rivalry brewing in the last few years before Tiger's injuries got the best of him. Now Rory has the likes of Jordan Spieth and Jason Day to challenge him, but it sounds like he'd be more than happy to welcome the man he's chasing in the record books back into the fold whenever he's ready.
