Unhappy birthday: An DQ'd for incorrect scorecard

Ben An's birthday weekend could have gone a bit smoother.

An was vying for the lead in the third round at the Italian Open before a bogey at 16 proved his undoing ... because it was actually a bogey at 15.

The youngest-ever U.S. Amateur champ was, as a result, disqualified from the event - the day after his 25th birthday. Poor guy.

An, who picked up his first PGA Tour win earlier this year in New Orleans and is the reigning PGA Long Drive champion, is currently 29th on the European Tour's Race to Dubai standings.
