RSS

There are plenty of scenarios and stats to digest before play begins Thursday at the Tour Championship. Here are the key stats You Oughta Know for the FedEx Cup finale courtesy of the Golf Channel research department.

Dustin Johnson

• Has three wins and eight top-10s in his last 10 starts. He is a combined 71 under par during that stretch:

Wins: 3
Top-5s: 6
Top-10s: 8
Scoring Avg: 69.08
Score to par: -71

• His 12 wins since the beginning of 2008 trail only Tiger Woods, who has 18 in that span. Rory McIlroy picked up his 12th PGA Tour win earlier in the playoffs at the Deutsche Bank Championship.

Most PGA Tour Wins Since 2008

Tiger Woods: 18
Dustin Johnson: 12
Rory McIlroy: 12
Jason Day: 10
Phil Mickelson: 10

• He's just the third player in the last 10 years to record three wins and 14 top-10 finishes in a PGA Tour season. The other two players to do it in that span, Jordan Spieth and Tiger Woods, went on to win Player of the Year.

• Patrick Reed has 11 top-10 finishes this season on the PGA TOUR, trailing only Dustin Johnson:

Dustin Johnson: 14

Adam Scott

• Adam Scott has done basically everything at an elite level this season ... except putting:

Strokes-Gained Ranks
Tee-to-green: 1st
Approach the green: 1st
Off-the-tee: 11th
Putting: 120th

• His solid stats have resulted in three consecutive fourth-place finishes entering the Tour Championship.

• With 13 wins, only Tiger, Vijay and Phil have more since the beginning of the 2003 season:

Tiger Woods: 45
Vijay Singh: 23
Phil Mickelson: 21
Adam Scott: 13
Dustin Johnson: 12
Rory McIlroy: 12

Jordan Spieth

• Just the third reigning FedEx Cup champion to return to East Lake the following year. Phil Mickelson in 2010 and Brandt Snedeker in 2013 are the other two.

Ryan Moore

• Since the Travelers Championship began, Moore has 105 birdies/eagles made – 17 more than any other player during that span:

Ryan Moore: 105
Patrick Reed: 88
Hudson Swafford: 83
Si Woo Kim: 82
Sean O’Hair: 82

Bubba Watson

• Does not have a top-10 in an official PGA Tour event since March:
