Snedeker five-putts from 6 feet on No. 4

RSS

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Brandt Snedeker didn’t mince words after an 8-over 80 dropped him well out of contention during the third round of the Masters.

“Just hit it in a few bad spots and putted horrifically,” he said. “Putt bad around here and it just turns into a long day quick.”

How bad was it? On the par-3 fourth hole, his tee shot landed in the greenside bunker. He wedged out to 6 feet and … made quadruple-bogey.

“I had my first five-putt on the PGA Tour,” said the man who shared the 54-hole lead last year. “Never had a five-putt, let alone from 6 feet. I just hit four bad putts in a row, and it kind of snowballed.”
