Mickelson on a tear in Round 3

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. - On Friday, Phil Mickelson sounded like a man closer to the lead than the cut, although his scorecard told a different story.

Lefty was 3 under through 36 holes, two shots clear of the cut, but rolled to an outward 5-under 31 and roped his second shot at the par-5 11th hole, which he played in 1 over on Thursday and Friday, to 12 feet and two-putted for birdie to move 9 under, three shots behind leader Lee Westwood who is two hours away from teeing off at a windswept TPC Sawgrass.
