Sjoholm's coach live tweets his round in Sweden

European Tour player Joel Sjoholm took tweeting to a new level on Friday in the second round of the Nordea Masters.

The Swede had his coach, Mike Walker, send on-course tweets to his followers, updating them on his round at Bro Hof Slott GC in his home country. In total, 30 tweets describing his second round of 3-over 75 were sent.

"I thought it would be a fun thing for my followers," Sjoholm said to European Tour Radio. "Even if I'm playing bad, like I did today, I think my Twitter followers actually enjoyed it. It was a fun PR stunt for me and for the tournament."

Sjoholm was advised by tournament officials he would be subject to penalty if he sent the tweets. On the PGA Tour, mobile phone use by players is banned in practice areas and on the course during tournament rounds unless used in a designated cell phone calling area.

Sjoholm was approached by officials after the round to ask if he had sent the tweets. He had not, but Sjoholm was happy to know his coach had truly couched his emotions that well.

"The whole intention was to write my emotions because my coach knows how I am," he said. "It means he did a good job, with people thinking it was me."

Despite missing the cut by two shots, Sjoholm said he will live-tweet again in the future.

"When I look back to the round," he said, "I can see what faults I made."
