DORAL, Fla. – It’s probably not the groupings everyone would have wanted, but the lineup for Days 1 and 2 at the WGC-Cadillac Championship were released Tuesday with plenty of intrigue. (Click for full tee times)
Newly crowned world No. 1 Rory McIlroy will play with No. 2 Luke Donald and No. 3 Lee Westwood, who the Ulsterman beat in the semifinal match at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship. The uber-threesome will tee off on the 10th hole at 11:50 a.m. (ET) on Thursday.
Tiger Woods, whose Sunday charge at the Honda Classic came up two strokes short of McIlroy, will be paired with defending Doral champion Nick Watney and Sergio Garcia and will begin his week on the first tee on Thursday at 12:40 p.m.
Phil Mickelson, who has finished first (Pebble Beach) and second (Northern Trust Open) in his last two starts, will be paired with Match Play champion Hunter Mahan and Adam Scott and tees off on the 10th hole at 11:20 a.m.
