ST. ANDREWS, Scotland – Torrential rains flooded the Old Course on Friday, causing a weather delay of more than three hours at the Open Championship.

R&A officials suspended play at 6:46 a.m. local time, just after the second group set out, because of standing water on many of the fairways and greens.

Players returned to the course to resume the second round at 10 a.m.

The delay will push first-round leader Dustin Johnson’s tee time back to 5:48 p.m., with the last group of the day scheduled to tee off at 7:27 p.m.
