SEVILLE, Spain ' Colin Montgomerie began the celebration his 500th European Tour event with a 5-under par 67 to share the clubhouse lead in the first round of the Andalucian Open.
Montgomery was tied Thursday for the early lead with fellow Scot Steven OHara and Jean-Francois Lucquin of France at the tournament in Spain.
Montgomerie is looking for his 32nd European Tour victory, and has carded a 67 in three tournaments in a row.
Montgomerie, who will be the European captain against the United States at next years Ryder Cup, had four birdies over his first six holes after starting on the 10th tee.
