Lee makes his first cut as a pro

CHARLOTTE, N.C. ' U.S. Amateur champion Danny Lee earned his first pay check Friday when he made three tough pars down the stretch for a 3-under 69 that put him closer to the leaders than the cut line in the Quail Hollow Championship.

Lee, an 18-year-old who turned pro after the Masters, was at 4-under 140, just four shots out of the lead.

I was very nervous playing the last five holes, Lee said. This is going to be my first cut as a professional. I was really nervous about it and I did play really well.

Pressure is nothing new to Lee. He won the Johnnie Walker Classic in February, becoming the youngest champion on the European tour.
