South Korean out front at China Open

BEIJING ' South Koreas Choi Ho-sung has shot a 4-under 68 to take a two-stroke lead after the second round of the China Open.

Choi was at 6-under 138, ahead of overnight leader Markus Brier of Austria, who followed a first-round 67 with a 73. Brier is tied for second with Thailands Chapchai Nirat (71).

Paul McGinley of Ireland (67) and Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano of Spain (70) were three strokes off the lead.

Colin Montgomerie of Scotland shot another 73 and appeared out of contention. Defending champion Damien McGrane of Ireland shot 74.

The $2.2 million China Open is jointly sanctioned by the European Tour and the first tournament in the OneAsia series, a rival of the Asian Tour.
