ST. ANDREWS, Scotland – Tom Lewis, the 20-year-old who shared the lead after one round of the British Open, is among 10 amateurs picked for the Great Britain & Ireland team for the Walker Cup.

The GB&I team that will try to win back the cup from the Americans does not have anyone over 24. The youngest player is 17-year-old Rhys Pugh.

The Walker Cup will be played Sept. 10-11 at Royal Aberdeen. The U.S. team includes NCAA champion Patrick Cantlay of UCLA and U.S. Amateur champion Peter Uihlein of Oklahoma State.

Lewis opened with a 65 at Royal St. George’s to become the first amateur in 43 years to lead the British Open. He tied for 30th and was low amateur by three shots over Uihlein.
