HUTCHINSON, Kan. – College golf fans got what they wanted Tuesday: an NCAA final pitting the top two teams in the country.
Top-ranked Alabama and No. 2 Oklahoma State won their semifinal matches to advance to Wednesday’s championship at Prairie Dunes. It is only the second time in the past six years of match play that Nos. 1 and 2 have met in the final (2012, Texas vs. Alabama).
Alabama defeated LSU, 4-1, in the semifinals, while Oklahoma State’s Talor Gooch earned the pivotal point for the Cowboys as they defeated Stanford, 3-2.
This is the Crimson Tide’s third consecutive finals appearance.
