Biggest Movers: Moore makes postseason jump

Each week, GolfChannel.com takes a look at the players who made moves up - and down - the various ranking systems in the world of golf.

Here’s a look at this week’s Biggest Movers, as Ryan Moore makes a move after coming up just short at the Tour Championship:

• Moore fell short of Rory McIlroy at East Lake, but he did earn his first Ryder Cup bid in the process. He also jumped 11 spots to No. 31 in the world, his best ranking since the 2015 Masters.

• Kevin Chappell also lost to McIlroy in the playoff, but his runner-up propelled him up seven spots to No. 27 in the rankings, a remarkable climb after beginning the year ranked No. 105.

• McIlroy didn’t move up in the rankings with his win, but he did cut into the gap behind world No. 2 Dustin Johnson, who now leads McIlroy by less than 0.5 points.

• Englishman Paul Casey put together another solid playoff performance, moving from No. 15 to No. 13 in the world after his fourth-place showing at East Lake.

• Roberto Castro’s T-17 finish at the Tour Championship moved him up four spots to No. 66, completing a strong season that he began with conditional status and ranked 354th.

• Alexander Levy’s dramatic playoff win at the Porsche European Open, his third career European Tour title, helped him rise 65 spots to No. 165 in the world.

• Ross Fisher, who lost to Levy in the playoff in Germany, still jumped into the top 100 at No. 93, a rise of 29 positions.

• A T-10 finish at East Lake likely wrapped up Rookie of the Year honors for Emiliano Grillo and moved the Argentine up one spot to No. 25, equaling his career best.
