Stacy Lewis erased a series of near-misses with an emphatic performance that moved her to No. 2 in the Rolex Rankings.

Lewis, a runner-up six times since last August, shot a 7-under 64 Sunday – the low round of the day, by three – to win the North Texas Shootout by six shots. Third-round co-leader Meena Lee finished second, while Michelle Wie bogeyed the last two holes to shoot 67 and finish solo third.

Lewis was nipped by Lydia Ko at last week’s event, but posted rounds of 71-64-69-64 in Irving, Texas, to erase a week’s worth of frustration. Prior to this week, Lewis had finished outside the top 6 only once this season.

Beginning the day with a share of the lead, Lewis moved ahead with an opening 31, which included an eagle on the par-5 seventh. She made three more birdies coming home to coast to a comfortable victory, her ninth on the LPGA and first since last year’s Women’s British Open.
