PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas – Inbee Park is in position to make a run at regaining the No. 1 ranking Lydia Ko seized from her last week.
Park can ascend back to No. 1 by finishing third or better at the Pure Silk Bahamas Classic, depending what Ko does.
Park will start Sunday’s suspended third round tied for eighth, two shots off the lead.
Ko will begin Sunday tied for 32nd, six shots off the lead.
Here are the scenarios if Park finishes first, solo second or solo third:
• If Park wins, she goes to No. 1 as long as Ko finishes T-2 or worse.
• If Park finishes solo second, she goes to No. 1 as long as Ko does not finish better than T-4 with two other players.
• If Park finishes solo third, she goes to No. 1 as long as Ko does not finish better than T-13 with two other players.
