Thomas Bjorn of Denmark shot a 3-under-par 68 at Royal Melbourne to remain on top of the individual standings halfway through the World Cup. Just one stroke behind Bjorn is American Kevin Streelman, who shot a 69.

Individual leaderboard: Thomas Bjorn (68-134), Kevin Streelman (69-135), Jason Day (70-138), Ricardo Santos (69-138), Matt Kuchar (68-139), Martin Laird (72-139), Stuart Manley (72-139), Hideto Tanihara (67-139)

Team leaderboard: United States 274, Denmark 277, Australia 281, Japan 281, Portugal 282, Scotland 284

What it means: With Matt Kuchar adding a 68 to Streelman’s 69, the U.S. pair lead the team standings by three shots over Denmark.

Round(s) of the day: Japan’s Tanihara, Mexico’s Oscar Fraustro and Italy’s Francesco Molinari shared the day’s low round: 67.

Best of the rest: Individual leader Bjorn was one of three players who shot 68. The veteran started and ended his round with bogeys, but sandwiched five birdies in between.

Quote of the day: ''It is the same feel of Augusta on a weekend - actually I wouldn’t know because I haven’t made a cut in the Masters yet. So Friday afternoon at Augusta it feels like.” - Streelman, on the quickness of Royal Melbourne’s greens
