Turns out both players in the 2013 U.S. Amateur final will be making their pro debuts this week.

It was already announced that U.S. Amateur champion Matt Fitzpatrick, 19, will join the play-for-pay ranks this week at the European Tour’s Irish Open. Now, GoVolsXtra.com reported that runner-up Oliver Goss, who recently completed his sophomore season at Tennessee, would make his pro debut at the Travelers Championship.

Goss, 20, was the low amateur at the Masters in April, but he missed the U.S. Open cut after rounds of 71-83 at Pinehurst.

“I am really excited to go to the next step and I feel like I am ready to go,” he told the AAP.

The Travelers will mark the first pro event for five young pros, including Patrick Rodgers, the winner of the Hogan, Nicklaus and Haskins awards. Former Alabama star Bobby Wyatt, NCAA champion Cameron Wilson and former Georgia standout Joey Garber also will be making their debut in Cromwell, Conn.
