Bubba Watson’s Friday finish put him in the final group entering weekend play at the WGC-HSBC Champions in Shanghai, China.

Even par for his round, and languishing at 1 under for the tournament, Watson birdied his final five holes at Sheshan International to reach 6 under, four back of 36-hole leader Graeme McDowell.

After birdies on Nos. 14 and 15, Watson chipped in for his third-consecutive birdie at the par-4 16th.

He just missed the green at the par-3 17th, where he used a 4-wood from the fringe to roll in No. 4-in-a-row.

He finished his day by getting up and down for birdie at the par-5 18th.

Watson is seeking his third PGA Tour victory of the year, having won the Northern Trust Open and the Masters during the 2013-14 season.
