Out indefinitely because of a second back surgery, Tiger Woods said on his website Tuesday that he will still attend the America’s Golf Cup that he was scheduled to play with Matt Kuchar.
The 72-hole, best-ball event will be held Oct. 22-25 in Mexico City. Woods has withdrawn from the event the past two years because of injury.
In a post on his website, Woods said that he will meet with government officials in Mexico City on Oct. 20, host a golf clinic with Kuchar and attend a sponsor breakfast. Woods is not yet able to swing a club after undergoing a second microdiscectomy Sept. 16.
Woods is committed to play the event in 2016, 2017 and 2018. A replacement for Woods has not yet been announced.
