Day defeated Brooks Koepka, 3 and 2, in quarterfinals
McIlroy defeated Chris Kirk, 4 and 3, in quarterfinals
• This is just the fifth instance in tournament history that a pair of top-4 overall seeds will face each other.
• Day’s win was his 16th match won in this event since 2013 (most of any player in that span)
• McIlroy is unbeaten in his last 12 matches in this event (11-0-1)
• McIlroy is one win shy of Tiger Woods’ record for longest unbeaten streak (13)
• McIlroy is defending champion; only Woods has successfully defended (2003-04)
• Woods is the only player to successfully defend ANY WGC title (did it eight times)
Louis Oosthuizen vs. Rafa Cabrera Bello
Oosthuizen defeated Dustin Johnson, 2 and 1, in quarterfinals
Cabrera Bello defeated Ryan Moore, 2 and 1, in quarterfinals
• Oosthuizen has won 12 of his last 14 matches in WGC Match Play
• Oosthuizen has won 13 matches since 2013 (only Day has more wins in that span)
• Oosthuizen was eliminated in the quarterfinals each of the last two years
• Cabrera-Bello qualified for the Masters with his win in the Round of 16
• Cabrera-Bello never trailed in either match Saturday
