1Tiger Woods

Woods makes his 2011 debut on a course where he’s won seven times, including a U.S. Open. He’s more dominant here than anywhere.

2
Ben Crane

As Bill Haas showed last week at the Bob Hope Classic, the defending champion of an event always has to be considered a factor.

3
Phil Mickelson
Mickelson has won this event three times, but not since 2001. The San Diego native is arriving from Abu Dhabi, where he finished a pedestrian T-37.
4
Nick Watney
Watney won this event in 2009 and has two other top-10 finishes. This will be his first start of the season.
5
Rickie Fowler
Fowler tied for fifth in his Farmers Insurance debut last year. Expect him to be a prominent figure on the weekly Power Rankings this year.

6
Charles Howell
A two-time runner-up at Torrey Pines, Howell is coming off a T-13 at the Hope.
7
Bill Haas
Nearly became the second player ever to successfully defend his title at the Bob Hope. The kid is reaching his potential.
8
Dustin Johnson
Johnson is getting primed for Pebble Beach, where he will vie for his third consecutive victory. He hasn’t had much luck at this event, but he’s never been this good.

9
Robert Allenby
Allenby has been Mr. Steady over the last few years, but Mr. Winless as well. He has a couple of T-9s at Torrey Pines in his career.
10
Bubba Watson
Watson tied for fourth in ’07 and tied for seventh in ’09. Another odd year could mean another positive result.
