SHENZHEN, China – Terrence Ng of Hong Kong has shown his potential as a future champion, winning the third edition of the Mission Hills Jack Nicklaus Junior Championship in Shenzhen, China.
After leading fellow Hong Konger Liu Lok Tin by one stroke over night, Ng recorded a final-round 3-under-par 69 on Mission Hills’ Jack Nicklaus-designed World Cup Course to finish at 8-under 208. Liu finished two shots behind in second, with China’s Liang Zheng another five shots adrift in third place at 1-under 215.
As reward for victory, Ng not only earned maximum points on the R&A World Amateur Golf Ranking – offered at the event for the first time – but also a place in September’s Duke of York Young Champions Trophy in England.
