Jacobsen will be unable to compete in any PGA Tour or Champions Tour events for the next six to eight weeks while he recuperates.

Jacobsen, a seven-time PGA Tour winner and a rookie on the Champions Tour, had the same arthroscopic hip surgery in May 2001.

This has been a very exciting year for me thus far. Im disappointed that Im faced with this injury and will not be able to play, said Jacobsen. But Im optimistic that I will have a quick recovery and be back in competition soon.

Jacobsens target for return is the Bayer Advantage Celebrity Pro-Am, a Champions Tour event in Kansas City, Mo., held June 7 ’14. Jacobsens sports management company, Peter Jacobsen Productions, Inc., manages the tournament.
