A lightning delay which lasted more than three hours and then darkness forced the suspension of play at the NCAA Division I Womens Golf Championships Friday afternoon. Twelve teams completed their rounds before lightning strikes forced a 3:15 delay beginning at 3 p.m.

Once play resumed, the final golfers were able to complete five holes before darkness fell in.

UCLA is sitting in first place at even par for the tournament, with a 6 over par performance during Fridays round. Duke moved into second place at 3 over par, while Oklahoma State is in third place at 4 over par with eight holes completed. All three teams are at least 16 strokes ahead of California and Vanderbilt, which are both 20 over par through 12 holes.

Individually, Cals Sarah Huarte was 4 under par through 12 holes and sits atop the leaderboard at 11 under.
